Intermetrics Wyndhaven

Wyndhaven screen with call-outs

The island of Wyndhaven was a virtual location where educators could develop their own customized lessons and students could construct a personal fantasy environment while practicing language skills, acquiring computer competency, and communicating with others. This multimedia object-oriented MUD, or Multi-User Domain, was a site for:
  • Multimedia presentations
  • Student exploration
  • Problem-solving
  • Student-directed construction within the virtual environment
  • Communication and role-playing
At The Portals, students found a prepared series of adventures designed to teach math and science. They could talk with an Isaac Newton robot, explore space, and try to find the North Pole navigating by the stars.
